Inviting riders

A team's value is the runs the team's riders contribute. This page covers how to add riders, what they see, and how to manage the roster over time.

How invites work

The team owner — and any team member with the right permissions — sends an invite to a rider by email or phone. The rider receives the invite in the app and accepts it to join the team.

A rider can be on more than one team. Joining your team doesn't disconnect them from anyone else's; their solo runs stay theirs.

What a rider sees once they join

A rider who has just joined sees the team's track sessions in their app. They can:

  • upload their own runs into any session
  • see other riders' runs in the same session
  • see the team's reference run for each session

Their runs in the team's sessions are visible to everyone on the team. Their runs in their own private sessions remain private.

Uploading on a rider's behalf

A coach often holds the SD card and the phone. If you're uploading footage from someone else's run, tag the run with the athlete's name — the rider who's actually in the video. That's the name that appears on the leaderboard and in any comparison.

The athlete name on a run is independent of which account uploaded the file. One account can upload runs for multiple athletes — common when a single coach is filming several riders at the same race.

This distinction matters because the leaderboard ranks athletes, not uploaders. If you forget to tag the athlete, the run will show up under your name, and the leaderboard will rank "the coach" instead of "the rider."

Removing a rider

Removing a rider from a team takes their access away — they can no longer see the team's sessions or upload to them. Runs they uploaded into team sessions stay with the team; the analysis and history don't disappear with the rider.

If a rider needs their own copy of footage they uploaded into a team session, they should download it before being removed.

Roles and permissions

For most teams, every member has the same access: view all sessions, upload runs, see other members' runs. If you're running a larger program where you need different roles for assistant coaches, athletes, and admins, contact support — we can help structure that.

Common questions

  • Can a rider be in multiple teams? Yes.
  • Do my private runs become visible to the team? No. Only runs you upload into a team session are visible to that team.
  • Can I move a rider's run from their personal session into a team session? Re-uploading the file into the team session is the cleanest path; runs are scoped to the session they were uploaded into.
  • What if a rider leaves and comes back? Re-invite them. Their old account will still be associated with any runs they uploaded previously.
